Dr. Matthews is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the Southeastern Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, the North Carolina Society of Plastic, Maxillofacial Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate Association and the International Society of Craniofacial Surgeons. He is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Matthews’ philosophy regarding surgery is to find the most effective treatment with the best results and the absence of complications. The most rewarding aspect of his Practice is to help patients regain their function and appearance lost by birth defects, trauma or tumors.
